My love for health and fitness started at the age of three in a tap dance class. My most vivid memory as a child is seeing myself in a dance studio mirror, stomping my feet to the music with a huge smile on my face. Today, I’ve been fortunate to turn my passion into a profession with the biggest pay off being the smiles on my client's faces. Since 2004 I have been working as a movement and fitness professional in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.
My formal education includes a BA from the University of Guelph with a major in Theatre. While we were in lockdown I completed a Counselling Diploma with the Vancouver College of Counsellor Training and my Reformer Pilates Teaching Certificate with Pilates Process. I hold a 200hr Yoga Teacher Certification with Carolyn McManus and I have trained with Lela Dawson to complete a Mat Pilates Teacher's Certification as well as assisted her in a training. I have been on faculty for several yoga teacher trainings and I have mentored over 400 teachers as part of the Lead with Love Mentorship Program. From 2006-2014 I owned a studio in Vancouver and I am happy to say that some of those students still practice with me today. Teaching has been my passion, my purpose and my full-time gig since 2004 and I have taught in almost every neighborhood in Vancouver. Last summer my son and I moved to Port Coquitlam to be closer to my partner Derek and his children. So far it has been a wonderful change and I am enjoying building a Pilates community at Yoga Generation as well as online in my virtual classes.
